Abstract: This document presents species lists for key marine taxa in Myanmar, derived from research collating over 600 papers and reports relating to the country’s marine biodiversity and habitats, most of which were previously unpublished and unavailable outside of the country. The lists present known occurrence or predicted occurrence of hundreds of marine species from a range of taxa and are intended to serve as a foundation for future work, to be updated as systematic research and marine species research in the country progresses. Key taxa represented includes: mangroves, corals, seagrasses, cetaceans, marine turtles, finfishes, sharks and rays, sea and coastal birds, prawns and shrimps, lobsters, crabs, cephalopods, bivalves, gastropods, sea cucumbers, echinoderms, and seaweeds.
